Dena and Witch must survive on their own for the next few weeks. The days are warm and the nights are icy cold. They can either go back home or tough it out and learn what true dedication is.

 S T O R Y  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The sun set quickly behind the tree line, leaving the moon and stars to light their way. It had been a couple of week now and they had been doing well but this night was much colder than the rest. The wind had picked up and it was making it more difficult to move through the wilderness. Luckily enough, it was a full moon that night. They had yet to come across any other wild tokotas or anything really for that matter except for a few rabbits and deer. Witch was panting hard and her scruff was slick with fur even though the icy wind pierced into Dena's skin. Time for some much needed rest. 

    Dena started up the fire as Witch plopped down next to the pit. thhad been coming back to the same place all these weeks and they planned to keep doing so until their time out there was up. There was plenty to eat and Witch could hunt for herself; usually bringing back something for Dena as well. Tonight was different. Normally they would eat and work but it was too cold for that now. They would have to just hunker down and hope to the gods that this damned wind calmed down. Dena tossed the black piebald tokota a piece of meat as she chewed on her own. It was dry but had a fairly nice sweet taste to it. Only the rabbits around here tasted this way. She smiled as the fire grew larger, surrounding them with a bit of heat. Scooching close to Witch, Dena leaned into her, taking in her body heat. With the fire and Witch to keep her warn, they would be find for the night. 

    The clouds parted and allowed for some of the moonlight to shine down on them. It was well past midnight at this point. As Dena drifted off into a deep sleep, Witched turned her head to the stars and let out a deep, bellowing howl; showing anyone or anything that if they dare harm her handler, she would be there to protect her.
